Meditations for daily
The simplest way of Meditation is like going into my inner sanctuary.
While there, I still the body, hush the mind, and comfort the heart.
That time can also be – doing nothing if you wish.
Visiting your Sanctuary is a habit that takes however many minutes you wish to reserve a day to go there. Five, twenty minutes or for hours, you decide.
What is an inner Sanctuary?
It is a place within, your center, some say the heart, the emotional and spiritual space that allows a sacred connection with yourself.
Your sacred space is your safe haven, where you know you can relax and can silence your thoughts, like heaven inside your head and heart. When you are there, everything such as thoughts, worries, fear, pain, hurt, shame vanish, nothing has labels, it is the space you plug up to your divinity because no one can access your inner self but you.
You can take this time out anywhere that is comfortable and conducive, such as sitting or lying down where you will not be disturbed by anyone for the amount of time you set to meditate.
Alternatively, you can choose to do so by listening to music that is calm and recharging, or while listening to a guided meditation of your choice which is my preferred method.
I like to see it simply as the time I take for myself to regroup, recharge, be in peace, without inner judgment.
It is a habit that costs you nothing, yet so powerful for those that practice it. It may feel strange, awkward, out of bounds, and silly at first, however, once you pass that stage you will wish you had started this practice earlier.
The emotional benefits of Meditation include:
- Gaining a new perspective on stressful situations.
- Building skills to manage your stress.
- Increasing self-awareness.
- Focusing on the present.
- Reducing negative emotions.
- Increasing imagination and creativity.
- Increasing patience and tolerance.
Those are just a few, the list of benefits goes on.
It is a practice you do when you want, wherever you want, for as long as you want, a gift you give yourself and allow yourself to receive and enjoy.
